Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Nairobi – Drive to Masai Mara

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional safari guide. After a short briefing, you will depart Nairobi and drive southwest through the scenic Great Rift Valley toward the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, located along Kenya’s border with Tanzania. You will arrive in the reserve around midday, check in at your lodge or camp, and enjoy lunch before some time to freshen up. Later in the afternoon, you will head out for your first game drive, offering your first taste of the Masai Mara’s vast plains and abundant wildlife. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2

Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Masai Mara, widely regarded as Kenya’s best safari destination. With its high concentration of wildlife, this day offers your best chance to encounter the Big Five, including lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo (rhinos are rare in the Mara). You may enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park or return to the lodge, depending on your preference. The day is spent tracking predators, following migrating herbivores, and soaking in the iconic African landscapes before returning to the lodge in the evening.
Day 3

Maasai Village Visit – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you will visit a traditional Maasai village, where you will learn about the Maasai way of life, customs, and traditions directly from the community. After the visit, you will check out and drive toward Lake Naivasha, arriving in the afternoon. Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge and have time to relax before heading out for a boat safari on Lake Naivasha. The boat ride takes you close to hippos and water birds and includes a guided walk on Crescent Island, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes in a beautiful natural setting. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4

Lake Naivasha – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, you will depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in the foothills of Mount Kenya. You will arrive around midday, check in to your lodge, and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will head out for a game drive in Ol Pejeta, one of East Africa’s leading conservation areas. This conservancy offers one of the best chances in Kenya to see endangered black rhinos, along with elephants, lions, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5

Ol Pejeta – Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy a morning game drive in Ol Pejeta before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Around midday, you will check out and begin your scenic drive north toward Samburu. You will travel through changing landscapes, from highlands to arid savannah, arriving in Samburu in the afternoon. You will check in at Umoja Women’s Village Camp, one of Kenya’s most well-known community-owned and women-run camps. The camp is operated by women rescued from forced marriages and female genital mutilation. In the afternoon, you will spend time with the women, hear their inspiring stories, and learn about their culture and daily life. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 6

Full-Day Safari in Samburu

After breakfast, enjoy a full day in Samburu National Reserve, famous for its rugged beauty and unique wildlife. Samburu is home to the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. You will spend the day on game drives, exploring riverbanks and open plains, with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 7

Samburu – Nairobi (Departure)

After breakfast, you may enjoy a short morning game drive before beginning your return journey to Nairobi. The drive takes approximately 6 hours, passing through scenic northern and central Kenya.
