Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi from Iceland

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest and recover from your international flight and prepare for the safari ahead.

Day 2

Nairobi Wildlife & Community Experience

Begin your Kenya journey with a unique introduction to wildlife in a capital city setting.

Start with a morning game drive in Nairobi National Park, the only national park in the world located within a major city. Here, wild lions, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes roam freely with Nairobi’s skyline rising in the background — a surreal contrast found nowhere else in Africa.

Continue to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where rescued orphaned elephants are bottle-fed and cared for before being reintroduced into the wild.

Proceed to the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild giraffe, offering a rare chance to interact closely with these gentle giants.

Optional afternoon visit to a local children’s home for a meaningful cultural and community connection.

Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3

Journey to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park, a land defined by vast open plains and dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli is globally renowned for its large elephant herds, often seen walking in long family lines across the dry lakebed landscapes with Africa’s highest mountain towering in the background.

Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to explore its iconic ecosystems.

Day 4

Full Day in Amboseli National Park

A full immersive safari day in Amboseli.

Morning and afternoon game drives reveal some of the most photogenic wildlife scenes in Africa. Early hours are especially rewarding as elephants, buffalo, and predators move actively before the heat intensifies.

Amboseli’s open terrain offers exceptional visibility, making it one of the best places in Africa for close elephant encounters and photographic safaris.

Return to your lodge for sunset relaxation and dinner.

Day 5

Morning Amboseli Safari & Return to Nairobi

Enjoy an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active and Kilimanjaro is often visible in soft light.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive back to Nairobi.

Arrive in the afternoon and check into your hotel for overnight stay, giving you a comfortable break after the bush experience before continuing deeper into safari country.

Day 6

Nairobi to Masai Mara (Afternoon Game Drive)

After breakfast, depart for the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s premier wildlife ecosystem and one of the richest safari destinations in Africa.

The Mara is home to the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino, with rhino being the most elusive but still present in protected zones and conservancies.

Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the sweeping savannah plains, where predators and grazing herds dominate the horizon.

Day 7

Full Day in Masai Mara

A full safari day exploring the Mara ecosystem at depth.

October offers a quieter safari atmosphere after the migration peak, making wildlife encounters more relaxed and focused on resident species and predator behavior.

Expect excellent chances of lion prides, leopard sightings, elephants, hyenas, and vast herds of plains game across open golden grasslands.

Day 8

Masai Mara Morning Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

in the morning we depart from Masai Mara for Nairobi with optional Maasai village visit, offering insight into traditional culture and lifestyle.

Arrive in Nairobi late in the afternoon where you check in and relax as you prepare for transfer to Watamu the following morning.

Day 9

Transfer to Watamu (Coastal Kenya)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Watamu.

Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your beach resort along the stunning Kenyan coastline.

Watamu Bay is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beach destinations on the northern coast, known for its soft white sand, turquoise waters, palm-lined shores, and lush tropical forest backdrop merging into the Indian Ocean.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the beach.

Day 10

Watamu Marine & Coastal Experience

A full day in paradise along Kenya’s coast.

Optional experiences include snorkeling in coral gardens, dolphin watching, or dhow sailing within the protected Watamu Marine National Park, where vibrant coral reefs and marine life create one of East Africa’s most pristine ocean ecosystems.

The rest of the day is for relaxation, beach walks, and oceanfront leisure.

Day 11

Transfer from Watamu to Nairobi

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you are transferred to your hotel for overnight stay. The evening is at leisure, allowing time to rest after your coastal journey or enjoy a quiet dinner in the city.

Day 12

Nairobi City Exploration & Shopping Experience

A relaxed day dedicated to exploring Nairobi at a comfortable pace.

Spend time visiting curated craft markets and souvenir shops for authentic Kenyan gifts such as handmade beadwork, wood carvings, textiles, leather goods, and artwork.

Nairobi offers a vibrant urban contrast to the safari and coast, and the day can also include optional light city experiences such as cafés, cultural spots, or short guided stops depending on interest.

This is a perfect final day to absorb the city atmosphere and complete your Kenyan journey with meaningful local experiences before departure.

Day 13

Departure to Iceland

Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back to Iceland, marking the end of your safari, beach, and cultural journey across Kenya.
